Background: CEA is a kind of embryonic cancer antigen, which normally express in fetal digestive tract epithelium, pancreas and liver. CEA antibodies can be used to classify the adenocarcinoma, especially in the gastrointestinal tract, including colon and pancreatic cancers. CEA also helps to distinguish secretory meningioma from medullary thyroid cancer.
