Key Hardware Features & Design

• Five Gigabit RJ45 Ports: Features five auto-sensing 10/100/1000 Mbps interfaces to connect wired devices like smart TVs, desktop computers, network printers, and game consoles.

• Highly Energy-Efficient: Operates with a maximum power draw of just 2.5 Watts. This low-thermal footprint means the switch runs completely cold and silent without any internal fans.

Dual Power Input Options

The USW-Flex-Mini does not require a bulky proprietary power brick. Instead, it offers two highly adaptable methods for powering up the chassis depending on your local cabling layout:

1. Power over Ethernet (PoE In): Connect a standard 802.3af/at PoE cable from an upstream switch into Port 1. This allows the Flex Mini to run entirely on power delivered down the data line, removing the need for a local wall socket entirely.

2. USB Type-C Mains Power: For locations without an active PoE infrastructure, the rear of the unit features a standard USB-C power terminal. A compact 5V, 1A UK mains USB-C adapter plug is included in the box.

Core Network Management Details

While budget-friendly, the Flex Mini remains integrated into the broader UniFi Network Application platform, providing centralized visibility over your network edge:

• Port-Based Configurations: Administrators can apply port isolation, monitor link speeds, check real-time traffic statistics, and toggle basic port-based VLAN assignments through the central controller.

• Deployment Nuance: To keep the hardware small and affordable, the Flex Mini utilizes a streamlined management chip. Please note that it handles port-based VLAN tagging only; it does not support SSH access, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) root configuration, or advanced 802.1X security profiles.
