This impressive Jurassic shale slab features a double-sided display of Pseudomytiloides dubius, one side showcasing a gorgeous golden pyritised bivalve, the other side revealing a large raised 3D specimen with exquisite shell detail. Several additional partial bivalves further enrich the composition, capturing the dynamic structure of these ancient marine creatures.

The pyritised specimen gleams naturally against the dark shale matrix, with a druzy like sparkle when illuminated, highlighting fine growth lines and the subtle intricacies of shell morphology. The 3D raised example on the reverse provides a striking contrast, creating a highly detailed and visually captivating display.

This fossil was collected by Aaron, director of Collectors’ Cabin, from the beautiful North Yorkshire Coast.

The specimen has been carefully stabilised using museum quality consolidation methods to preserve its delicate structure while maintaining the natural character of the shale. No restoration or enhancement has been applied.
