These wonderful drawings of horses (one on each side) remind me so much of Native American ledger drawings (which are some of my favorite things in the world), all the more so for being done on lined paper. There is another horse drawing I purchased together with this one (listed separately) signed Samuel Joseph, who I believe also did these, and who I assume was a student when he did them. Definitely quite old, and I think just excellent. 

5 1/2" x 8 7/8" and in very good condition, with a little light creasing near the bottom.
