How to resist this strange, smiling fellow, aptly named Smiler P? Looking rather as if about to speak some secrets of the universe, it seems no great surprise to find a cryptic message handwritten on the underside of the base--"no evil or nasty brains in this head so don't abuse it ... don't forget to get it don't forget..."  Dated January 16, 1969, one might think it was carved while its maker was under the influence of psychedelics of some sort, who knows?! But whatever the case, I do agree our Smiler P must not be forgotten!

5 1/16" t x 3" w x 3 1/2" d and in very good condition, carved of pine I believe with a nice dry wood patina.
