176th Gunships (Muskets) - Guns - Vietnam Vet with Service Ribbons - MugThe 176th Aviation Company was activated on 1 October 1965, at Fort Benning, Georgia. The 176th deployed from Fort Benning in February 1967 as a unit and arrived in Tuy Hoa their first home base. 176th underwent a name change and became the 176th Assault Helicopter Company. The 176th were part of Task Force Oregon and supported the 101st Airborne in the Tam Ky and Doc Phu Area. The 176th AHC was assigned to the 17th Combat Aviation Group in Nha Trang.
