IL DOPPIO: Twice as efficient

From Italian brushmakers Borciani e Bonazzi, IL DOPPIO is a unique two-sided travel brush that gives you twice the creative options in the same amount of space as a regular brush. Each side can be capped, so that it serves as a handle for the other side. The caps are made of durable metal, and each one has a hole for proper drainage and brush drying.

IL DOPPIO is made in Italy. Each brush tip is hand-shaped by experienced craftspeople. And it's made with advanced synthetic fibers, for a precise and responsive painting experience for all styles of watercolor.

IL DOPPIO #1: Quill + Long Round

The IL DOPPIO #1 includes two brushes with long, sharp points. On one end, you'll find a traditional wire-bound quill, which offers a combination of water capacity and control that pro watercolorists love. Instead of the traditional squirrel hair, it's made from cruelty-free HIDRO® synthetic fiber. HIDRO is the synthetic squirrel hair that's unique to Borciani e Bonazzi brushes — it has extraordinary absorbency and much more precise control than natural squirrel.

On the other end, there's a long round brush made from MKS® Kolinsky Synthetic, the advanced sable replacement that's also used in BeB's IL PERFETTO brush line. This vegan-friendly fiber performs like genuine kolinsky at a fraction of the cost (and with a fraction of the frizzy hairs found on real kolinsky brushes!) You'll get sharp, sinuous lines and small round marks with this versatile brush.

About Borciani e Bonazzi

Since 1951, Borciani e Bonazzi has made the finest quality artist brushes in northern Italy. Each BeB brush is still individually hand-crafted in Casalmaggiore, with the inherited skill of generations of brushmakers. Today, the artisans at Borciani e Bonazzi are able to use much more advanced materials, and they can make shapes that didn't exist in 1951. But they have never abandoned the irreplaceable process of hand-shaping the brush tip.
