A tiny Potamon fossil crab in an unusual postion, upside-down, preserved in travertine matrix from the Pleistocene epoch. It was discovered in Turkey, where mineral-rich springs deposited travertine around freshwater crabs, creating natural molds and preserving them for thousands of years.
Potamon is a freshwater crab still living in rivers and streams across Eurasia today. The travertine matrix provides a beautiful natural display, making each specimen a decorative piece.
