Fourteen months after his last album, "Pure Comedy," which was a top 10 hit in the US/UK and nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album, Father John Misty's fourth album, "God's Favorite Customer," is now complete. The album will be released simultaneously worldwide on June 1, 2018. The majority of the songs on God's Favorite Customer were written in New York City during the summer of 2016 and winter of 2017." Reflecting the experience of being caught between the "vertigo of grief" and the "manic pain of freedom," the album reveals the bitterness and frankness of Josh Tillman's songwriting without sacrificing his wit or taste for the absurd.The album was produced by Josh Tillman himself and recorded by Foxygen's Jonathan Rado, Dave Cerminara (Jonathan Wilson, Foster the People, Conor Oberst), Trevor Spencer (Father John Misty). Also featured as contributors are The Haxan Cloak, Natalie Mering (Weyes Blood), longtime collaborator Jonathan Wilson, and Father John Misty's touring band.
