When a worn or undersized shaft seal causes lubricant leaks, contamination ingress, or premature bearing failure, the cost goes far beyond the seal itself. Maintenance engineers, equipment rebuilders, and agricultural machinery technicians working with large-bore rotating shafts need a seal that holds up to heat, chemical exposure, and continuous rotation — not one that fails after a single season.
Each listing covers one TC skeleton oil seal (1 PCS per order). These seals feature a carbon steel skeleton reinforcement, an FKM (Fluoroelastomer/Viton) sealing element, and a dual-lip TC profile. Available sizes span ID × OD × Thickness from 260×290×15mm (≈10.2"×11.4"×0.59") up to 300×360×25mm (≈11.8"×14.2"×0.98"), covering 35 distinct size variants to match a wide range of housing and shaft combinations.
These TC oil seals are well suited for agricultural tractor axle sealing, industrial gearbox output shaft sealing, heavy equipment wheel hub seals, and large hydraulic pump shaft applications where FKM chemical resistance and dual-lip contamination exclusion are required.

Measure three dimensions on your existing seal or housing: (1) the shaft outer diameter — this matches the seal's ID; (2) the housing bore diameter — this matches the seal's OD; (3) the housing groove depth — this matches the seal's thickness. For example, a 270mm shaft running in a 310mm bore with an 18mm groove requires a 270×310×18mm seal (≈10.6"×12.2"×0.71"). Always confirm all three values before selecting a variant.
FKM stands for Fluoroelastomer (commercially known as Viton). Compared to standard NBR (nitrile) rubber seals, FKM generally offers: higher continuous temperature resistance (typically up to 200°C / 392°F vs. ~120°C for NBR), better resistance to petroleum-based and synthetic oils, hydraulic fluids, and chemical exposure. For high-heat or chemically aggressive environments, FKM is typically the more durable choice.
TC-type skeleton oil seals are designed for dynamic rotary shaft sealing under low-to-moderate differential pressure — typically up to approximately 0.05 MPa (7 psi). They are not intended for high-pressure hydraulic line sealing. If your application involves significant pressure differentials, contact us to confirm suitability before ordering.
In most cases, yes. The TC dual-lip design includes a secondary dust/exclusion lip specifically to block water, mud, and particulate contamination from reaching the primary sealing lip and the bearing. The FKM compound also provides good resistance to moisture and weathering. These characteristics make TC FKM seals a common choice for agricultural equipment, outdoor machinery, and similar environments.
For consistent lip contact and minimal wear, the shaft surface running against the seal lip should generally have a surface finish of Ra 0.2–0.8 µm (8–32 µin) and a hardness of HRC 30 or above. A shaft that is too rough will accelerate lip wear; one that is too smooth may not retain a lubricant film at the lip interface. If your shaft shows scoring or wear grooves, address those before installing a new seal.
Yes. All dimensions are metric (mm) and follow standard TC oil seal sizing conventions. The OD is designed for a press-fit into a standard metric housing bore. Confirm that your housing bore diameter and groove depth match the OD and thickness of your selected variant. No special tooling is required beyond a seal driver or press of the appropriate diameter.
Seals in this size range are typically found in: agricultural equipment (tractor final drives, combine harvester axles, large PTO shafts), industrial gearboxes and reducers, heavy construction machinery (excavator swing drives, wheel loaders), wind turbine gearboxes, and large hydraulic pump or motor shafts. If you are rebuilding equipment and need help confirming the correct size, share your machine model or the markings on your existing seal.
