Description:
A new German Aeolus recording, highly acclaimed for its high-quality SACD recordings of rare historical organs. Leon Berben, the last student of Gustav Leonhardt, was also a harpsichordist in Musica Antiqua Cologne led by Goebel, and is a master of the ancient music kingdom, the Netherlands. This is the first complete recording of the organ works of Matthias Weckmann (c.1616-1674), a pupil of Heinrich Schütz, recorded in the first half of the 17th century at the same time as his works. CD1 is the Friedrich Stellwagen Organ (1637) from St. Jacobi Church in Lübeck, CD2 is the Hans Scherer organ (1624) from St. Stefanus Church in Tangermünde. Tokyo M-Plus
