Use regularly to Maintain fireplace and help prevent creosote build up – MAINTENANCE product, not a 1 time magic cleaner, should be powdered, if hard/cakey in tub it means moisture go into it needs to be replaced, SPRINKLE into fire- if too much is dumped and wood is too wet the powder with clump IN FIREBOX preventing burn, do NOT burn drift wood, when chlorine/salt wood is burned it leads to a large amount of creosote buildup, salt will also ruin any metal in firebox. Ashes are not garden safe because of copper content, will not negatively impact stainless steel.
