Description:
She has demonstrated a remarkable ability to skillfully sing the detailed characterizations of the "three" characters in Mozart's operas. Elsa Dreisig was born in France in 1991. Her father is French and her mother is Danish, both musicians, and she too has been involved in music from an early age, winning first prize at the "Operalia in 2016" organized by Placido Domingo and recognized by Simon Rattle in 2016, and now attracting worldwide attention. This third solo album by Elsa Dreisig pays homage to the composer Mozart, who guided her as a professional singer. The elaborately titled "Mozart x3" features a selection of arias from The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Così fan tutte, three groundbreaking masterpieces by the Italian poet and librettist Lorenzo da Ponte. Each of these contains three important roles written for the female voice, which are represented by these arias. Also included are three arias from "Lucio Silla," "Idomeneo," and "The Mercy of Emperor Tito," written by Mozart for the dignified and formalized genre of opera seria established in the Baroque period. In Da Ponte's operas, Dreisig has created detailed characterizations for the "three" characters, and he has demonstrated a remarkable ability to skillfully sing these arias in different ways. The range of expression is astonishing. This is an album with a lot of attention to detail. It is also noteworthy that the arias from the opera seria are chosen to suit her rather quiet voice. For example, in track 18, Cecilio's aria "My dearest," she sings with a sense of resignation and a hint of hope, which is very emotional. Through her songs, we can fully enjoy Mozart's genius, and the album is filled with the realism of various characters as if they were appearing before our eyes.Elsa Dreisig sang the role of Fiordiligi in "Cosi fan tutte" at the 2020 Salzburg Festival (available on DVD from Elate: 9029.505032) and was praised for her "pearly top notes and solid technique" (Gramophone magazine). spring 2021 In the spring of 2021, she sang the Countess in "The Marriage of Figaro" at the Berlin State Opera to rave reviews. Mozart's music, which at first seems so clear and natural, seems to hide deep and profound secrets. Listening to his music and reading his opera scripts, I find nuances and subtleties that help me grow. A hymn to freedom, a sense of balance, imagination, freedom of thought and humor... Freedom and integrity are equally powerful in Mozart's music," said Elsa Dreisig. The album is conducted by Louis Langrée, the incoming music director of the Opéra-Comique in Paris, and backed by the Orchestre de chambre de Basel. Warner Music Japan
