Inspired by the original set of seven wall hangings dating back to the 15th Century, the Captive Unicorn Tapestry Cushion Cover will offer a touch of modern elegance to any home. The Jacquard woven tapestry cushions which are backed with a contrasting velvet, depict the sixth of the seven original wall hangings named the Unicorn Hunt and shows a Unicorn seated within an enclosure surrounded by a flowery mead. The 'mille fleur' (thousand flowers)style shows a melody of flowers including pansies, ragged robin, harebells and foxgloves among others.

The Original

The 15th Century set of hangings were woven in France for La Rochefoucauld family and were adorned in their home - The Chateau of Verteuil. In 1923, the series were sold to Mr Rockerfeller of for an estimated $1,100,000 and to this day can be viewed at the Metropolitan Museum of New York.
