Sometimes bundled up with 1988s similarly dubbed Green Album on previous reissues, it captures the Malian desert blues maestro just before he began to incorporate electrics into his sound and find a more international audience. Hypnotic and sparse, its a valuable sonic document of an incredibly influential figure.
