Description:
A classic Indonesian psychedelic/progressive rock album released in 1973, which was reissued once only in 2017, has been reissued! This is a rare masterpiece among the phantoms that attracted the attention of the Anglo-American psychedelic/progressive rock world, and with the difficulty of obtaining it, everyone was eagerly searching for this super strong work. The original was once sold for over 30,000 yen. Please take this opportunity to acquire it! Legendary Indonesian SSW Harry Rusli (1951-2004) was born in West Java as the grandson of the famous writer Marah Rusli, and was a student at the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at Bandung Institute of Technology when this album was released. At the same time, he was studying under writer/actor/musician Remy Sirad and Slamut Abdul Sukur, who is considered the father of Indonesian contemporary music. His debut album with his band, The Gang of Harry Rusli, was not only a big hit upon its release, but is still widely regarded as a super-important work in the Indonesian rock scene. The six-member band is led by Rusli on lead vocals/acoustic guitar/bass/percussion, Albert Warnerin on lead guitar/vocals/percussion, Harry Pochan on harmonica/percussion/vocals, Dadan Latif, piano/organ/percussion; Indra Levi, piano/organ/percussion; and Janto Sujono, drums/percussion. The musicianship of each member is also noteworthy. The sound of the band includes prog-funk rock numbers reminiscent of Frank Zappa in the late 60's, beautiful acoustic numbers with the most beautiful vocal harmonies in the style of Brazilian psychedelic folk genius Lula Cortez, and fat blues-rock numbers featuring the harmonica. The variety is abundant, and each of them is also excellent. In 2009, 36 years after the original release, Rolling Stone Indonesia selected "Malaria" as one of the "greatest Indonesian songs of all time". Includes slipcase, detailed commentary (in Indonesian), lyrics of all songs, and a booklet with rare photos. Imported: CD with domestic distribution specification (with obi with Japanese explanation. Japanese commentary is not enclosed.)
