When belt stretch causes layer shifts on your 3D printer or positioning errors on your CNC router, the problem is usually the cord inside the belt — not the belt itself. Engineers, makers, and machine builders who need repeatable accuracy rely on steel wire–reinforced HTD3M timing belts to hold tension without creeping over time.
Each belt is a closed-loop (endless) HTD3M timing belt with a 3mm tooth pitch and 10mm face width. The body is molded from polyurethane (PU) with a built-in steel wire tension cord running the full perimeter. Available perimeters range from 1380mm (≈54.3") to 1698mm (≈66.8") in 3mm increments, sold individually (1 pc) or as a pair (2 pcs).
Typical use cases include CoreXY and Cartesian 3D printer drive systems, desktop CNC router gantries, pick-and-place machine axes, and light-duty robotic joint drives — anywhere an HTD3M closed loop timing belt with low elongation is required for consistent motion control.

Measure the center-to-center distance between your two pulleys, then use the formula: Perimeter ≈ 2 × center distance + (π × pitch diameter of both pulleys). For HTD3M, each tooth pitch is 3mm — count the teeth on your existing belt and multiply by 3 to get the perimeter in mm. For example, a 460-tooth belt = 1380mm (≈54.3"). When in doubt, go slightly longer; you can adjust tension with an idler pulley.
The built-in steel wire core provides significantly higher tensile strength than fiberglass-reinforced belts. For a 10mm-wide HTD3M belt, typical working tension is generally in the range of 100–300 N depending on speed and pulley diameter. Always confirm your specific load requirements against your machine's engineering specifications before installation.
The polyurethane (PU) body is generally more resistant to oils, mild chemicals, and moisture than standard neoprene belts. However, prolonged exposure to UV radiation or standing water may reduce service life. For outdoor applications, we recommend adding a protective cover over the drive system.
Yes. This belt follows the HTD3M tooth profile standard — 3mm pitch, curved tooth form — and is compatible with any HTD3M pulley of matching width (10mm or wider flanged). It is not interchangeable with GT2, MXL, T5, or other tooth profiles. Check your pulley markings before ordering.
Order 1 pc if you are replacing a single belt or prototyping a new machine. Order 2 pcs if your machine uses two parallel drive axes — common in CoreXY 3D printers and dual-gantry CNC routers — or if you want a matched spare on hand to minimize downtime during maintenance.
Steel wire cores offer lower elongation under sustained load, which translates to more consistent positioning accuracy over time. This is especially important in CNC routing and FDM 3D printing, where belt stretch causes layer shifting or dimensional errors in finished parts. Fiberglass cores are lighter but typically stretch more under the same tension.
This belt uses the HTD3M profile: 3mm tooth pitch with a curved (High Torque Drive) tooth form designed for higher torque transmission. GT2 belts also have a 2mm pitch with a different curved profile optimized for low-backlash positioning at lighter loads. The two profiles are not interchangeable — always match belt and pulley profiles exactly.
